Brute force attacks and failed login attempts
Important Announcement
We have reports of failed login attempts, this means people have been trying logging in as admins and have been locked out of the system. We have their IP addresses logged and we will be posting them up as soon as we finish collating them.
We would like to remind everyone that unauthorised access to computer material is a criminal offence under section 1 of the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
Unauthorised access to computer material.
(1) A person is guilty of an offence if—
(a) he causes a computer to perform any function with intent to secure access to any program or data held in any computer, or to enable any such access to be secured ;
(b) the access he intends to secure, or to enable to be secured, isunauthorised; and
(c) he knows at the time when he causes the computer to perform the function that that is the case.
The penalties for the offence can be quite severe, those trying to be too clever could face a custodial sentence:
(3) A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be liable—
(a) on summary conviction in England and Wales, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum or to both;
(b) on summary conviction in Scotland, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding months or to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum or to both;
(c) on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to a fine or to both.
Given the limited scope of this little blog, the list of suspects is not very long. Very few people have an interest in hacking into this blog and we know who they are so please do yourselves a favour and stop the attempts unless you fancy spending Christmas in the company of the police.

Did you get this sorted out in the end?
Site’s stronger than a nuclear bunker!
Some clever dick was trying to be funny and changed the site title. Little did they know that, in doing that, they left their foot print and we are already liaising with the police. Hacking is an offence under Section 1 of the Computer Misuse Act and you can get up to two years for it.
Maybe nothing, but I have just seen the following Beaking News on Mail online:

We would like to apologise to our loyal followers for the site not being available yesterday. This was due to a scheduled upgrade by our hosting providers, who made sure the site was back to normal as soon as possible
Someone’s not happy again… or the weekend started early for the hackers,,, or else we had the wrong kind of sunshine… we’re being hit with frequent attempts at hacking the admin log in… are you kiddies having fun?
If they want I comment why do they not do so by conventional methods?
They’re still at it! It’s probably more fun than… well… just as well they’re having to wait longer now. Let’s take this little game to the next level, shall we? They’ve not done very well so far… maybe Level 3 will be more to their liking…
Awwww bless their truly not happy bunnies at all.
They’ve been shamed & shown for what they are, utterly vile cowardly liars with Jason at their head with his almighty “look at me & all this work I have” God complex.
Now just settle down over there, put down your poison pen KBs & pick up an enjoyable mug of cocoa & a few chocolate biscuits & chill the heck out. As you surely need too!
We have reports of someone trying to hack the admin login yet again! from IP: 120.24.60.115.
Would suspect this is a random attack – see https://www.shoutmeloud.com/5-wordpress-security-plugin-check-hacked-wordpress-blog.html might be worth thinking of installing some extra software.
