Some of you may remember when Bennison made posts on BHF claiming to have obtained data from sources such as telecoms companies who provide internet and telephone services, regarding their account holders. One one occasion, he accused an individual of having “spammed” their server, whatever that means. This accusation escalated into a full blown thread dedicated to the alleged “culprit”. In order to find out the identity of someone who accessed the server, Bennison would need to look at the server logs. The logs would only have IP addresses, and we all know even the ICO does not regard IP addresses as “personal data”, because individuals CANNOT be identified from an IP address! The only organisation that would have the data to identify the IP address that has been assigned to an account would be the telecoms company, and, when you consider the number of customers they have, and the fact that IP addresses are subject to change, they probably don’t even hold that data very long themselves.

In order to obtain that sort of data, a court order would be required, and a court would only grant such an order to the police, and would require the force to show probable cause regarding the commission of a serious offence, such as an investigation into terrorist activity, internet fraud or hacking into a government or bank database. Even then, the data would only go as far as matching an account with an IP address, not an individual. It is normally possible for various household members and guests to share an internet connection under the same IP address and, if we are talking experience hackers here, as they would have to be, they could probably also hack into someone else’s internet connection. The main point is, there is NO WAY Bennison would have been able to obtain the data, no way in the world!

As if that wasn’t enough, a couple of years ago, Bennison decided to publicly announce that Quatloos had disclosed to him the identity of the poster by the name of Get Out of Debt Fools, who had started a thread on that forum regarding Bennison’s activities. The admins of Quatloos were very quick to state that they did nothing of the sort, not only do they keep their users’ data private, they simply wouldn’t have the data! Bennnison of all people should know this, as he runs his own BHF forum. When you join a forum, all you need to provide is a valid email address that can be used for verification. That means ANY email address, not necessarily one with your name, an email address such as xyz007@hotmail.com would be perfectly fine. Other than the email address, the only other data a forum admin would obtain would be an IP address. The IP address could provide an indication as to the geographical location of the user, provided they are using a residential or work IP rather than a mobile IP or a proxy server.  As described in the paragraph above, a telecoms company would only be able to provide details of the account the IP was assigned to with a court order. This means a forum admin, whether it’s Bennison or the Quatloos admins, wouldn’t be able to obtain this data. Once more, Bennison LIED about it!

As if all that wasn’t enough, this morning we have him saying he KNOWS PB made silent calls to his mobile and hung up! He had previously accused another individual of making silent calls and claimed to know who it was after contacting the phone company. This morning, Bennison claims to have done something similar, despite his posts being made very early on a Sunday morning! Is he trying to say he rang a phone company early this morning and they provided him with the number of the person that rang him, just like that? There is no end to Bennison’ lies!
